Denver wants to run more, not slow it down with two bigs.

Two bigs can lead to more running. Blocked shots can turn into transition. Interior D can lead to poor long ranges shots, also turning into transition. Having two bigs can increase your own field goal efficiency, which means the other team has to set up their offense and not get easy transition.
Although the league has changed to a bunch of three point shooting, that means that a team with two stud bigs may be able to create an advantage for themselves.
