Sixers are making trades to position themselves to draft Ben Simmons and Jamal Murray, currently ranked #2 and #6 by draftexpress in next year's draft. These two players would fit perfectly in the rebuild. Simmons is a 6'10" forward who handles like a guard, and Murray is a sweet shooting 6'5" pg with a bball IQ off the charts. I think Philly's lack of pursuit for a quality pg makes this evident. They have 4 picks in the first round next year, and that draft will make or break the rebuild and Sam Hinkie.
Sixers get Birdman(immediately cut) and top 10 protection removed from Miami pick next year.
Miami gets highly protected second that will never convert and salary relief from birdmans contract.
Similar to the Thompson trade they just made. However, wade and bosh are both injury prone, and both could be sidelined. That's what happened last year. With the protection removed, Hinkie covers another scenario that could weaken his draft day.

Not sure heat will remove top 10 protection, but if so we want to dump Chalmers 100% more than birdman. Both would be way down in minutes given heat roster, but bird man is a fan favorite and sells jerseys. Let's just say no one wears Chalmers jersys.

Ben Simmons likely is number one at this point. But we will see when the season starts

You're really lowering the bar for a salary dump. That's taking on Anderson's $ for basically nothing. Once you do that, you'll never have leverage again. No way the Sixers do that.
