Not a philly fan but I think the 76ers can compete next season. Next draft can have 3 first round picks along with d saric coming over. You bring back embiid and still have okafor, noel and r Covington to build around. Also have cap space. With the cap space bring in veterans.
2016/2017 roster
Pg. veteran pg FA or trade/ T wroten / 2016 rookie
SG. 2016 rookie/ n stauskas/ veteran
SF. 2016 rookie/ r Covington/ veteran
Pf. Noel/saric/Landry or another veteran
C. Okafor/embiid/veteran
I would say try to trade(d Schroeder, etc) for a pg or look into FA(rondo, m Conley, etc).
Draft SG and sf with the early picks.
Look for veterans that can help like (a afflalo, j Johnson, g Henderson, L Deng, n batum, etc)

Exactly! that's Hinkies masterplan. If the picks fall right next year, he can get his hands to something special with the right FA's
Conley - Murray (LA pick) - Wroten
Beal - Stauskas - (veteran FA)
Simmons (Phila pick) - Covington - Grant
Noel -Saric - Holmes
Embiid - Okafor - (veteran FA)
Picks Murray & Simmons, Embiid & Saric back, then Conley & Beal with maximum contracts, plus two bench vets preferably with championship pedigree.
Can you see this as a reasonable perspective? Beside Phila has all the extra picks and cap space.

Nobody All-Star caliber player wants to go & play in Philly. Beal won't leave the Wizards & Conley certainly won't leave Memphis to come & play there.
Hinkie so far has made a mess of this re-build & has therefore pushed the 76ers back another 2 years or so.

Conley definitely wouldn't come to philly. Depending on how free agency pans out and Sixers look, Beal may be possible. If wiz sign Durant, Beal is 3rd option behind KD and Wall. He may not be happy with that situation. Philly could easily give him max money and more scoring opportunities. Sixers would draft Murray to play pg next year.

Beal's a restricted FA next year right? Might not matter what he thinks, Wizards can match any offer and go over the cap to do it.

Heinkie has no master plan. Philly can't get a talk with free agents let alone attract multiple top free agents. The master plan is a bust.

I don't see Conley coming over but you never know. I do think b beal is more realistic especially if KD goes to DC. But philly plan is pretty good despite embiid set back. Once you have your core of young players to build around, you can then start to add the vets and missing pieces
