Considering it would be a sign and trade for a max (or near max) deal, money wouldn't work at all. And I feel like this would be pretty bad for okc. Kanter NEEDS a defensive PF to be a viable starter, Thompson isn't that.
You also end up without a big man that can stretch the floor. With Westbrook driving to the rim as much as he does, a big that can shoot from outside is a great weapon.

Thunder pass. They give up the best player in the deal but take on way too much salary.
Tristan Thompson is overrated. No way he should get that kind of money.
