If the season doesn't look good for the Kings, here is a trade that will benefit the Blazers quick rebuild

Kings : Noah Vonleh, CJ McCollum, Mason Plumlee, 2 1st round picks including 2016 pick

2016 assuming Rondo doesn't sign back they get a young PG to develop together with their young core. could also trade Rudy Gay eventually

Pg McCollum
Sg McLemore
Sf Gay
Pf Vonleh/Plumlee
Ce Cauley-Stein/Koufos

Blazers : Demarcus Cousins and Darren Collison

2016 rebuild and contend

* sign Harrison Barnes to a deal worthy
* sign Ryan Anderson
* resign Gerald Henderson

Pg Lillard/Collison
Sg Henderson/Crabbe
Sf Barnes/Aminu
Pf Anderson/Davis
Ce Cousins/Leonard.

That would certainly be a rebuild and make the Kings top lottery players for a couple of years. Which works for Sixer fans since we control their picks for a couple of drafts.

Id still say that kings team would be better than the sixers unless lottery luck.

27 Oct 2015 12:56:34
King, being better doesn't mean having more wins. The kings in the West without a star will get slaughtered. They'll wind up closer to the top of the lottery than the Sixers although they might be a better team.

It's not like the sixers don't play teams in the west either. That kings would win more games than the sixers. The Suns don't have a star, they don't make the playoffs but are close to it. This team would be a younger less effective Blazers team right now but they would finish with a better record.

Playing against west teams* not in the west.

27 Oct 2015 15:14:49
The schedules are unbalanced. So the Kings play the West teams more often than the Sixers do.

Philly, are you trying to make the argument that the third worst record in the league isn't accurate because the sixers are actually much worse because of an easy schedule?

28 Oct 2015 13:04:55
Of course I am.

If the Lakers finished with the 2nd worst record in the league and the Sixers the 3rd worst record in the league, it can be argued that the Lakers' record is distorted negatively because their schedule in the West was so difficult. It can also be argued that the Sixers record was distorted positively by playing a much weaker schedule.

I think most everyone agrees that the West is much tougher than the East. And the West plays more games vs. the West than they do the East.

Why is this a surprise?

I just find it funny to hear you say the sixers are much worse than their awful record. I know it's pretty obvious, still funny to read that. To be fair though, I don't think it's a fully accurate statement. The top level teams in the west are deeper than the east. true. But the mid to bottom level teams aren't necesarily that much better. Those are the teams typically the create the difference between the bottom teams. So the west having teams like the wolves, kings, lakers, nuggets, etc. compares about as poorly as last years knicks, sixers, magic, pistons. Take for instance, the 6th worst team in the west was the suns. The 6th worst in the east was the heat. Head to head, i'd pick the heat.

I think the top teams coming out of the west prove to be stronger. but overall, the bottom teams records tend to be relatively accurate towards overall team strength.

What I'm saying is fairly clear. Because the West is much tougher and the schedules are unbalanced, its extremely possible if not likely that the quality of the team may not align in the number of wins.

My comments are not necessarily specific to the Sixers. This dynamic is true in my opinion across the board and in most every sport since every sport has an unbalanced schedule.
