This would only happen if clippers do a complete blowup. Otherwise division rival trades are very rare too.

Even if the clippers did blow it up, they're not sending Blake across town in an even trade. They'd either want to embarrass the lakers with a crazy trade like Russell, Randle, and the number 1 pick (assuming they get it), or they'd trade griffin somewhere else.

If Lakers get the #1 pick, they better not trade it for Blake. Draft Simmons. With Simmons, Russell, Randle, and Clarkson plus $60M in cap space and Kobe retiring, we'll be able to sign 2 max players next offseason and another the following year when the cap goes up to $110M. I don't think we get Durant next year because he still wouldn't make it a title contending team, but that will be attractive for any premiere free agent. Blake is good, but he can't even get to the WCF with CP3 and DeAndre. He's not going to lead the Lakers to a championship. Draft Simmons and sign Whiteside and Batum. Then the following year, that team would be attractive to a superstar (Curry, Durant, Westbrook, LeBron) .

They wouldn't trade him to the Lakers. They wouldn't trade him at all. If anything, they would trade CP or DJ before they trade their most marketable $ asset.
