Hawks: Marcus Smart, Grant Williams

Celtics: DeAndre Hunter, Gallo.

1.) 16 Jan 2022 13:34:22
Makes little since to Atlanta.

2.) 16 Jan 2022 14:07:22
I think it makes a lot of sense for Atlanta but none for Boston. Atlanta needs D and has had interest in Smart, but this trade leaves Boston with who at the point?

3.) 16 Jan 2022 14:19:24
@ Nightcap

Schroeder, Pritchard and Richardson (now and then), at least until Brad Stevens realizes that he needs to trade for a PG asap. Derrick White should be the main (somewhat) feasible target. If not him, Coby White, who’s underrated IMO.

4.) 16 Jan 2022 16:23:03
Schroeder is a goner, Pritchard is not a starting caliber PG, and Richardson can just sub there. I can't judge the trade by what else may come after, only by what is presented, and what is presented doesn't work.

5.) 16 Jan 2022 16:37:50
Also keep in mind, Boston sees Tatum's Ideal position to be a the 3.

14 Jan 2022 11:31:03
Celtics: Porzingis and DFS

Mavs: Smart, Horford, Schroeder and 2023 lottery protected first.

1.) 14 Jan 2022 11:42:44
Who's running the point for the Celtics?

2.) 14 Jan 2022 12:15:07
No interest in the unicorn from Boston and this leaves them without a PG.

3.) 14 Jan 2022 13:26:04
This would be made in connection with other moves to bring in a starting point guard. Pritchard would be the backup with Richardson providing a few minutes at 1 too.

4.) 14 Jan 2022 16:51:51
Still, Boston has zero interest in Porzingis.

5.) 14 Jan 2022 16:54:51
I think it would be a good trade. Maybe swap Brunson for DFS?

14 Jan 2022 10:54:14
Clippers: Juancho Hernangomez (salary), Aaron Neismith, 2023 lottery protected first

Celtics: Marcus Morris Sr.

1.) 14 Jan 2022 12:16:36
No chance Boston has interest in Morris Sr.

2.) 14 Jan 2022 13:00:27
@ Nightcap

Why not? He’s still pretty good. I don’t think he’s worth 2 firsts like someone suggested, but 1 protected first although a bit steep, seems feasible to me. I’d expect next year’s pick to be a late one anyway. Maybe we should try getting Ibaka back from the Clippers as well (Kanter going to them and using the TPE to absorb Ibaka’s expiring contract), but I guess I’d still do it only to get Morris, who already knows the main guys on the roster and can provide much-needed offense while adding toughness to a team that at times looks soft.

3.) 14 Jan 2022 13:22:18
Morris isn't worth his contract. You'd have to attach picks.

4.) 14 Jan 2022 13:54:02
They could have spent similar money to re-sign Fournier who provides more of a need and wouldn't have cost anything in the form of assets. It's not just value you have to gauge, but direction of the team as well.

5.) 14 Jan 2022 23:39:08
yeah boston isn't ready to win now so why trade young player and pick.

14 Jan 2022 10:53:22
Pistons: Juancho Hernangomez (salary), Aaron Neismith, 2 protected firsts from Boston, 2 seconds from Dallas

Dallas: Dennis Schroeder (into their TPE)

Celtics: Jeremi Grant.

1.) 14 Jan 2022 11:28:15
1 x 2nd not more.

2.) 14 Jan 2022 12:17:35
I could see Boston's interest in Grant but I'm not sure he's worth the price tag.

3.) 14 Jan 2022 12:57:25
Grant is worth more than that on the NBA trade market right now. it costs more to get proven talent like Grant.

4.) 14 Jan 2022 13:57:27
I'm not saying they won't get that, I'm just saying I'm not sure he's worth it. He could very well go back to being a good role player on a decent team and that's not enough for that price tag. Take a closer look at a lot of the trades that go down and you'll see that many players often don't end up getting the type of return that fans had predicted. Happens all of the time.

13 Jan 2022 05:57:48
Dallas: Dennis Schroeder (using Josh Richardson’s TPE)

Houston: Juan Hernangomez (salary), Aaron Neismith, 2 2nd rd dps from Boston and 1 2nr rd dp from Dallas

Boston: Eric Gordon, Jae’Sean Tate (using Kemba’s TPE)

1.) 13 Jan 2022 12:14:59
Schroeder to Dallas makes all the sense in the world and look for them to dump Hernangomez, but highly unlikely Boston would have any interest in Gordon or that they'll use that TPE before next offseason.

2.) 13 Jan 2022 12:47:51
is gordon any better than schroeder? . and one more year at 20mm. i see no value on eric gordon.

3.) 13 Jan 2022 14:21:42
Eric Gordon is a knockdown shooter and an underrated playmaker. He’s a lot better than Schroeder IMO. Besides, he’s a better fit alongside the Js, who need shooters around them more than they need scorers. In addition to that, the Celtics would be getting the underpaid Tate, who can step in Smart’s place in case he’s traded. Speaking of which, this trade with Houston would be even more interesting to the Celtics if they manage to subsequently trade Smart for a quality big (a PJ Whashington type) or a bigger wing (like a Harrison Barnes or a DeAndre Hunter), therefore offsetting the financial burden of Gordon’s contract while balancing out the roster.

4.) 13 Jan 2022 15:44:41
Yea Gordon's a better fit despite the fact that celtics aren't winning and would be paying the tax to get knocked out in first round if they win the playin. Tates on a great contract and should move smart if they go this route. Why does Dallas want Dennis though that's the real question.

5.) 14 Jan 2022 13:26:20
eric gordon has shot 32 percent form deep the last 2 years. imo. that is a far far better sample size than the 45 he's hitting this year. and he's 33.31-34 is the age omst guards can fall off a cliff. just look at currys numbers this year for an example. the celtics need a point guard. specifically 29 year old malcomlm brogdon.

6.) 14 Jan 2022 20:49:49
6 fut 5 undrafted konchar getting 17, 9 and 14 rebounds in three of his last five games. has marcus smart ever recorded a 14 rebound game let alone a 19 in the same season? marcus smart is such an easy trade especially when he still has value.

7.) 14 Jan 2022 20:52:14
if the celitcs don't use the TPE this season. then its another wasted brown/ tatum year. becuase they are going nowhere with marcus smart at the 1.

Pool: why do Lakers fans believe that the average yet overpaid THT is as valuable as NBA stars?

1.) 16 Jan 2022 05:34:54
Because Lakers fans are dreamers. But not everyone :)

2.) 16 Jan 2022 11:20:44
Because they think THT is better than Caruso and Caruso got the same amount from Chicago as THT got from the Lakers. So in their minds, THT is "plus" talent and "plus" contract.

But it still doesn't make him worth any All-Star talent like Beal or Brown. He is still a stretch for near All-Star talent like King's Fox or Spur's Murray.

15 Dec 2021 12:50:51
Can the Celtics get Van Fleet without sending Brown or Tatum to the Raptors? What would be the cost?

1.) 15 Dec 2021 13:39:19
Good player, and Boston could send proper value, but I don't see a trade there that benefits both teams.

2.) 15 Dec 2021 14:16:11
Not much that would interest masai tbh. Williams would have to be included for sure, and Boston would need more bigs.

3.) 15 Dec 2021 15:58:32
Toronto loves FVV and it would take a lot to pry him away, especially because the Raptors are so weak in point guard depth. Flynn hasn't shown enough in practice to earn floor time, and Banton has shown flashes but realistically he's a mid second round pick with lots of development to come before he's a reliable rotation guy. Schroeder coming back would be great if he were backing up Freddie, but replacing him is a whole other story.

20 Jul 2019 00:09:28
Celtics and Raptors trade
Tatum for Siakam
Straight up
Helps both teams.

1.) 20 Jul 2019 06:39:35
With the way siakam play last year specially in the playoffs i don't know if Raptors ate going to trade him.

08 Feb 2017 21:06:14
Avery Bradley for Andrew Wiggins straight up.

20 Oct 2016 01:46:06
Sixers: Nets 2018 pick, fillers (any combination of James Young, RJ Hunter, Jonas Jerebko, Ben Bentil. or even all of them, should Philly want it)

Celtics: Okafor.

1.) 20 Oct 2016 16:42:40
I personally don't even think that starts the conversation on Okafor from a Philly standpoint. Might start conversations about Noel but not Okafor.

2.) 21 Oct 2016 17:33:40
Boston has made it clear it wants a top-15 player for either of the Nets picks. Okafor is barely top 15 in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference.

GASUPO and JJ_PR are completely wrong. The Celtics refused to include Jaylen in trades for George, Butler, Davis and Lillard. They would never trade him for Haliburton and 2 or 3 firsts, let alone one. Brown is that good, and even you don’t think he is, the Celtics clearly do.

Even if Brown was available, he would not be traded for Collins and Huerter. Collins and Hunt, maybe.
