Toronto does not want a traditional center. They had all offseason to get one if they wanted. They chose Precious. They could have just let Lowry walk and use the cap space to sign Holmes, but they didn't. They could have used the cap space to trade for Turner or Sabonis or another traditional big, but they didn't. I see a lot of proposed trades that assume Toronto needs to improve at the 5, but Toronto management doesn't believe that, so none of these trades are believable.
Also, with Dragic on an expiring there's no way the Raps can trade FVV without getting back a ball handler.

Not popular but is Simmons to Knicks good for both sides? Simmons seems like a sensible fit under Thibs system. But it would have to be a December deal when new contracts are eligible for trade
Is an RJ Barrett, Derrick Rose & Kevin Knox + picks package be enough or too much?
Knicks have Fournier, Walker, Burks & Quickley to space the floor for Ben. Randle too can play some "small ball" 5 with Simmons at the 4. Mitchell or Nerlens could be flipped for another guard or SF

probably as good an offer as many other teams will actually make. not nearly what morey wants, but closer to what he will most likely actually get. but still, it's daryl morey, so he will get more than most of us expect.

Simmons and Julius Randle seem like an awkward fit. They might be better off swapping the two players, although I don’t think that’d make the Knicks much better. The swap would really help Philly though as Randle has developed into an excellent shooter and a respectable playmaker.

I’m a little worried about Siakim’s contract, so I probably wouldn’t include Jaden McDaniels in a trade. Tough for MIN to operate with three max salaries, since they are no free agent destination. Other salary needs to be sent out to match in this trade too. Also, Malik Beasley’s scoring and 3P% probably has more value to other teams than TOR, so perhaps insert a third team.

The move was smart and a win. Holiday was an upgrade over Bledsoe and they’re going all in now to win to keep Giannis happy, which is the main goal.

Absolutely. Making the Finals shouldn’t be scoffed at, especially in the first year with Holiday. It was without a doubt a successful move.
