@NBA16 - is there a trade that can be built featuring Trent for Brooks... Memphis would have to add some salary likely, and I don't think we'd give up anybody more valuable than Trent, but Brooks might be a nice fit at the 2 for the Raptors

Idk if Grizz would be interested much in Trent. We already have our SG and shooter in Bane. Brooks is our best perimeter defender and will be the one that will guard the opposing best player in the playoffs.

Don’t think they’d wanna pay Trent what he’s asking as well.

TOR - DET

Det sends Joseph and 2026 2nd (best of New Orleans or Portland)

Tor sends Malachi Flynn

Toronto uses Dragic TPE to bring Joseph's salary in, and sending out Flynn keeps them under the tax line. Nurse has coached Cory with the Canadian team, and if he trusts him enough to approve this deal he'll get more opportunity than Flynn seems to be able to earn.

Detroit gets 2 years control of a young player that can challenge Killian Hayes for the backup point minutes. They also save 3M, which doesn't matter for their cap, but might make a big difference on the bottom line.

wonder what the odds are that the Nets sign Josh Primo to a minimum deal and hire Ime Udoka... then replace all the female staff with men.

Well, Udoka started with coaching in San Antonio.

agree with nightcap. not even close to enough for OG alone, and you want toronto to give up GTJ also?

Raptors would want at least one unprotected first, probably 2. Hart is of little interest and basically just salary fodder (Raps could replace his salary with the midlevel if they release him) and Sharpe counts as a 1st, but Toronto has already turned down 3 1sts for him. They will get something better than this offer if they decide to trade OG.

not sure dallas would be willing to part with those picks, but I'm really surprised @Nightcap that you'd be willing to part with 3 unprotected 1sts for Johnson. people here saying 3 picks too much for Anunoby, but Johnson can fetch that?

Are the Raptors ready to discuss Scottie? Would the Nets still be interested?

the fastest way that OKC could cause an SGA trade demand would be to acquire Trae Young.

well that didn't have much life to it, did it? surprised he acted so quickly but kudos to sean marks for getting something worthwhile out of a bad situation. i do think it will hurt their chances though. can they keep KD or is he the next to demand out.

I wonder how much chaos this is going to cause in the trade deadline market. How many teams are going to wait out the Nets decision? And how many teams will now switch targets and try to get KD? If the Nets just settle for the best they can get right now for Irving, will that impact the value of other players on the market?

@BMiller - I agree 100% on the true #1 option. Raptors hope Siakam is going to be that guy, but I'm not sure he'll ever be more than the 2nd best guy on a championship team. then again, nothing wrong with being scottie pippen. for someone who watches every game it seems to me that they just can't seem to all play well at the same time, and Nurse's defensive systems demand that everyone on the floor perform well. it's awesome to watch when it's working, but it seems when siakam is going well fred sucks, and when fred picks it up pascal struggles. achiuwa has looked good lately but lousy before he got hurt. boucher up and down. trent coming around after a visit to the bench for a few games. i'm not certain that it isn't just a matter of more time to gel, and i don't buy that the raptors can't afford to pay everyone with a salary cap jump coming. so it's hard to say what they'll do at the deadline. @Gasupo - that may be on the board now, but only if they sell high for sga or kd, not for anyone else.

@NBA - if Royce O'Neal can get a first then anyone of the Raptors starters can get at least 2. Masai set what the league determined was a price too high for Lowry 2 years ago and ended up not trading him. Until the offseason when he got exactly what he had wanted from Miami (Achiuwa) at the deadline. @Fredman - many have said the same of Danny Ainge. and yet look what he accomplished this past summer. If you have players you want to trade that the rest of the league wants to trade for no GM is going to say they don't want to deal with Masai. and if you have players you want to keep you tell the market that by setting a high price. So now Masai has told the other GMs not to waste his time with lowball offers for good players, and that Toronto is not ready to cash in the chips and start over. If that changes, the price will change. but they will still want a good return because the teams with cap space next year are not really threats to take Trent or FVV, so Raptors will still have S&T opportunities.

@Fredman - the Hachimura trade has screwed up their space under the cap already unless they plan to renounce him. They seem to have abandoned that plan to work as an over the cap team next summer. If Irving comes to them it will likely have to be a sign and trade (and yes, with the restrictions the hard cap brings) . maybe they hold on to Westbrook's hold to do a sign and trade and open up a TPE?
