SIX TEAM BLOCKBUSTER TO RERUN THE PROCESS
DET/IND/LAC/NYK/PHI/PHO

Pistons get Tobias Harris and Matisse Thybulle

Pacers get Torrey Craig

Clippers get Kemba Walker and Paul Reed

Knicks get Danny Green and Kelly Olynyk

Sixers get Jerami Grant, TJ McConnell, Robert Covington, Nerlens Noel, and Dario Saric

Suns get Furkan Korkmaz and Taj Gibson

Harden/McConnell
Maxey/Milton
Covington/Niang
Grant/Saric
Embiid/Noel

smunro

1.) 17 Jun 2022 23:14:13
get a 7th team involved (OKC? ) to take Tobias and Thybulle and send the 12th pick to the Pistons.

22 Sep 2021 22:39:29
Stephen A is about as reliable as Jason Dumas (not very) but he says the blazers are working on CJ, Roco and multiple firsts for Ben.
I'd like to flip those picks and Tobias for a high level pg. not sure there's any available tho

smunro

1.) 23 Sep 2021 01:45:16
Maybe flip for Wall and first.

2.) 23 Sep 2021 09:47:22
The point of swapping Tobias for a pg would be to improve floor spacing. Wall doesn’t do thaf.

3.) 23 Sep 2021 15:17:37
Toss in Maxey too and I’m in. That was my original idea (though I isn’t have the firsts included) . It makes sense to me. I’d be very happy.

22 Sep 2021 02:15:43
GSW/PHI/POR

Warriors get Simmons and Harris

Sixers get McCollum, Covington, and Wiggins

Blazers get Wiseman and Danny and Draymond Green

smunro

16 Sep 2021 15:10:05
B/R had an interesting idea.

Tobias and McCollum swap them Simmons to Atlanta for Gallo, Huerter, and Reddish.

I'm interested but not sold. What do the people think?

smunro

1.) 16 Sep 2021 15:25:32
Easy yes for Hawks

Blazers need a 1st

Philly wouldn’t do the Hawks trade.

2.) 16 Sep 2021 15:27:14
I'm not sure Portland does that. As for the second trade, I like it for both sides. I think a couple firsts need to be added from Atlanta to make the value fair.

3.) 16 Sep 2021 15:56:49
I’ve never liked the McCollum for Harris move for Portland. Harris and Covington is a weird fit, as neither seem like they can play full time SF anymore. It just swaps where the odd fit is from the guards to the forwards. And Harris doesn’t change the overall quality of the team in any way.

If McCollum were disgruntled and desperately wanted a fresh start? Sure. But he seems incredibly happy where he’s at.

4.) 16 Sep 2021 16:28:58
I haven’t really watched Covington in a few years but when he was in philly he was way more affective as a 3 than a 4.

5.) 16 Sep 2021 18:30:49
Yeah, he’s really flipped that (just like Harris) .

6.) 17 Sep 2021 12:34:00
That's a really bad trade fit the hawks. Harris isn't that good.

09 Sep 2021 23:41:15
PHI/POR/TOR

Sixers get CJ McCollum, Robert Covington, Anfernee Simons, and Chris Boucher

Blazers get Pascal Siakam and Danny Green

Raptors get Ben Simmons and Shake Milton

smunro

1.) 10 Sep 2021 02:55:37
No from Portland.

2.) 10 Sep 2021 15:17:46
What if you take Simons out, DAC?

3.) 10 Sep 2021 15:56:02
I’d rather keep Simons if Portland moves McCollum, but I don’t think I’d let him hold up a trade for an all star forward like Siakam or Simmons.

4.) 10 Sep 2021 23:55:49
Makes it better. I think that and. 1st.

5.) 11 Sep 2021 02:07:05
That would work for me.

19 Apr 2022 15:21:43
Are all you bots still simping for Jokic and his VORP or have you started watching games and realize who the best center of this generation is?
TTP

smunro

1.) 19 Apr 2022 17:25:59
Jokic is still the best center today.

2.) 19 Apr 2022 18:32:30
Jokic is one of the couple best players in the league and him winning MVP this year shouldn’t offend anyone. He’s amazing.

Philly fans are also the worst in the league, so I’m happy to see Embiid (who I think is a pretty obnoxious person) not win. It will make me laugh if he doesn’t win.

If he does win, he’s certainly worthy of the award as well. Giannis is deserving too. And he’s the actual best big man, and player overall, in the NBA.

3.) 19 Apr 2022 19:47:05
Jokic brought the Nuggets to the playoffs with Will Barton as his 2nd best guy. Nuff said.

4.) 20 Apr 2022 07:20:46
Seems we’re still simping. Time will tell.

5.) 20 Apr 2022 16:28:29
What do you expect time to tell us? Even if you want to ignore the advanced stats (that show him as the best offensive and defensive player in the league! ), Jokic still averaged 27/ 14/ 8 this year. It’s not like he was some bum and the advanced stats told a different story than his traditional stats. Both show he was amazing this year.

6.) 20 Apr 2022 17:27:23
If Embiid was on the Nuggets this year with Barton/ Gordon as his other two “sidekicks” I don’t believe they would be nearly as good. Whereas the 76ers would be pretty much the same if they had Jokic instead.

7.) 21 Apr 2022 12:23:54
First center since shaq to win the scoring title. kept the team relevant in an extremely competitive eastern conference through all the simmons drama. won't get bounced in the first round. doesn't need fake "advanced stats" to argue his case. carry on though.

8.) 21 Apr 2022 14:55:58
He averaged 3 more points than Jokic. The scoring title is nice, but let’s not act like Embiid averaged double the points.

Advanced stats are definitely not fake. And again, I think Jokic’s traditional stat line is better than Embiid’s.

Jokic also kept his team relevant through missing his two best teammates. It’s like ripping Simmons AND Maxey off the team, and not getting Harden mid season to bail him out. Embiid only won 3 more games with that much more talent around him.

The playoffs are irrelevant, as it’s a regular season award. Also, Embiid’s playing against an injury riddled Toronto while Jokic is playing golden state.

Congrats on getting out of the first round. Just to be bounced in the second. Yay.

15 Feb 2022 11:31:15
You all owe sixers fans an apology for suggesting they take slop packages for ben simmons

smunro

1.) 15 Feb 2022 14:33:10
Nah, no thanks.

2.) 15 Feb 2022 14:34:00
They did get a slop package, sloppy James.

3.) 15 Feb 2022 18:20:25
So 76ers got a guy with a bad hamstring for Simmons+DRUMMOND+CURRY+2UNPROTECTED FIRSTS.

Can't wait to watch Harden quit on the 76ers when Embiid gets injured.

4.) 15 Feb 2022 21:48:30
Harden might end up playing for the Clippers lmao. Because he may want to "go home"

28 Sep 2021 16:51:17
Is Simmons tanking his own value on purpose? Please help me understand why he keeps releasing awful statement after awful statement

smunro

1.) 28 Sep 2021 18:06:37
I think he’s just ready to get out asap.

2.) 28 Sep 2021 18:16:37
You’d think he would help that process. Not make it more difficult to trade him.

3.) 28 Sep 2021 18:51:58
Is Rivers tanking Simmons value and his teams power (not that they have much/ any left)?

What has Simmons released that was awful? That he has no interest in returning? That he told the team to not come when they were planning on meeting with him? Seems like he’s been very consistent.

Philly has 100% botched this. I can’t blame Simmons at all anymore. He has no control. The 76ers just need to move on. And they’re refusing.

4.) 28 Sep 2021 18:53:26
A Portland reporter said that Portland left a McCollum for Simmons straight swap on the table and it’s in Morey’s hands now. They’re done negotiating (which is 100% a negotiation tactic) .

But how long can Morey just look for better options? It’s not happening.

5.) 28 Sep 2021 23:37:27
“Don’t bother coming to see me in LA”
“I can’t play with embiids style”
“Not my job to increase my trade value”
“I want a team built around me”
“I am what I am” when asked why he’s not more aggressive

If a team has any questions about his commitment to the game, he’s certainly not assuring them in any way.

6.) 29 Sep 2021 03:28:30
I mean if he’s content on his play style then that’s his choice, shouldn’t make of break his value. It’s still made him a 3 time allstar and one the best defenders in the game. And it’s not technically his job to increase his trade value, Philly has ruined that taking this long.

7.) 29 Sep 2021 09:53:24
How did philly ruin his value? defending him every chance they got? By waiting too long to try to trade him?

Or did Simmons tank his own value by not improving for 4 years, by melting down in the playoffs, by not being able to play with and adapt to other stars, by bailing on Australia after committing to them, and releasing all the above statements.

Is that someone you’d want on your team?

8.) 29 Sep 2021 14:05:18
“By waiting too long to try to trade him? ” 100000x yes. This.

And if his trade value is tanked due to all that stuff in the second paragraph, it’s not coming back, so just trade him.

The “don’t bother coming” made perfect sense to me. He said what he’s said on the matter, he doesn't want to be there, and they don’t want him there. So what is there to talk about?

9.) 29 Sep 2021 14:36:17
If a handful of my coworkers were willing to fly across the country to beg me to stay at job I didn’t like, I’d be willing to listen.
I don’t think I’m the salt of the earth for that. I think that’s basic human decency.
They’ve also said they want him back every chance they’ve gotten. The general sentiment has been “we want him back, but if he doesn’t want to be here OR we can get a generational talent (Harden), we have to do what’s best for the team”.

10.) 29 Sep 2021 14:56:27
The absolute reality is that there is no long term future for Simmons in Philly. The team will 100% trade him when they’re happy with the return. There’s no chance he’s there in 18 months, no matter how he acted all summer. The ONLY reason the franchise wants to talk is because they want to repair his trade value and to wait out a couple superstars.

If I had a job where my managers desperately wanted to fire me, but were waiting until they could hire the perfect candidate to replace me. Then they dragged their feet for months doing it while I was in an extended vacation. And I absolutely hated being there and was financially stable enough to just not work for a few months? I’d tell my coworkers “I get it, you like me, but nah, don’t waste your time, I’m not coming back”.

11.) 29 Sep 2021 15:20:12
Gave him a max contract cause they wanted to fire him.
DIDNT trade him for harden cause they wanted to fire him.
Played him out of position to appease him cause they wanted to fire him.
Defended him till they were blue in the face and sounding dumb cause they wanted to fire him.
Please stop pining for this grown man acting like a child. Ben Simmons is not the victim here.

12.) 29 Sep 2021 15:49:27
It kinda makes sense for him to want to tank his trade value. The team acquiring him won't have to give up as much, therefore they'll be a better team than they would be if they had to give up a king's ransom for him.

13.) 29 Sep 2021 15:54:30
Casual, but without a decent package he’s on the sidelines losing millions of dollars.

14.) 29 Sep 2021 16:25:16
The team isn’t the victim here either. They both look terrible, but I get that you have to love your team.

He’s not acting like a child. He’s making a decision that is best for him. And that’s being done with that team. And he doesn’t seem to care about the money as much as he cares about being away from that organization.

At this point, Simmons has zero control, it’s all on the team. He’s put out no public comments in months, just stuff leaked about his message to the team.

(I’m also convinced that they tried to trade him for Harden, and Houston was the one that shut it down. If Philly had their choice, they’d have Harden, but they didn’t. )

15.) 29 Sep 2021 17:30:07
How’s Rivers and Embiid calling him out after playoffs taking up for him?

16.) 29 Sep 2021 19:05:24
What exactly did they say to call him out?
“I’m not sure if he’s a championship level point guard” after his 3rd colossal playoff meltdown

“We lost momentum after we passed up an open dunk”

These comments are grounds to demand a trade? Seriously? How old are you people?

17.) 29 Sep 2021 21:43:05
It seemed like the trade demand happened more after they shopped him for a month and he realized he had no future with the team.

18.) 30 Sep 2021 01:32:17
If you’re saying you don’t know if your 2nd best player is a championship PG then that obviously gives any one the mindset “this team may not want me or think highly of me”

Why would anyone want to play for a coach that doesn’t know you can be on a championship team? I feel like you’re a little biased right here taking the side of your team.

Simmons doesn’t owe anything to 76ers to help his trade value. He wants out, they know it, and yet they still haven’t traded him.

19.) 30 Sep 2021 02:15:08
And just Bc he doesn’t work on his jumpshot doesn’t mean anything. He’s elite at literally everything else but shooting. All star every year other than first year. DPOY candidate. He’s still a star player, the jump shot would make him a superstar I agree, but not many players reach that potential.

20.) 30 Sep 2021 09:50:34
Again I don’t think I’m the salt of the earth for this. I think this is normal but my mindset would be “mother****er I’m going to prove to you I am a championship level point guard” but were pretty far in the weeds on this. The fact remains that all of this could have been avoided if 1 person decided he wanted to improve at his job. Pretty simple task considering he has ONE THING to improve on.

21.) 30 Sep 2021 15:01:57
It’s hilarious that people think it’s just as simple as “get good” when it comes to Simmons shooting. If it was that simple, there wouldn’t be nothing but great shooters in the NBA.

Someone asked Evan Turner about it going into his last year in Portland. He was very candid about how hard he tried his entire career to build an outside shot, and he just didn’t have it in him. Has no one else tried something and just realized that no matter how hard they try, they just don’t have the innate skill to do it?

22.) 30 Sep 2021 15:54:38
The difference is they tried. Simmons doesn’t even look at the rim if he’s not in the paint. I’m not asking him to be good at shooting. I’m asking him to try it. In games. For an extended period of time.

Asking a basketball player to shoot the ball is now too much

Still pining.

23.) 30 Sep 2021 16:39:44
If you’re trying to force someone to do something that doesn’t fit there game or how they want to play, then you’re just setting yourself up for disappointment.

24.) 30 Sep 2021 20:01:21
Is shooting 20% from 3 really better than not shooting them?

As a fan of a team with Derrick Jones Jr last year, I lean toward shooting can be much worse than not.

25.) 30 Sep 2021 20:07:29
Have you ever won anything in your life? You have to make sacrifices to make the team better. You have to do things outside your comfort zone to improve in anything. He has done neither. The entire franchise bent over backwards to make him happy for 4 years. He shat the bed, and they stopped bending.

26.) 30 Sep 2021 22:11:35
Look just Bc he’s on your favorite team doesn’t mean you can bash him and put all the blame on him. The 76ers have also no put a good fit team around Simmons. The coaches need to play him at PF (point forward) not PG. They need 3 guards/ 3 sharpshooters surrounding him and Embiid. I don’t like the Harris fit with them too Bc he needs the ball too. They did good this year finally adding Curry/ Green. But I believe the team would be better sending off Harris for another shooter or PG.

27.) 01 Oct 2021 00:49:38
HES THE REASON THE TEAM hasn't DONE THOSE THINGS! It’s all been to appease him! Am I being trolled?

28.) 01 Oct 2021 03:13:11
So Simmons is the only making the team and the coaching rotations? Glad to see you have no knowledge.

21 Sep 2021 01:17:16
Guys, I don't think I find a way to make Simmons to Houston and wall to philly work. Philly would have to shed more salary, but they're the ones that should be getting more compensation. Can't think of a 3rd team to help

smunro

1.) 21 Sep 2021 01:56:53
Philly just needs to add $3 mil in salary. They could S&T Mike Scott for that amount. Or Gary Clark.

2.) 21 Sep 2021 09:49:48
Philly still needs more talent coming back though.

3.) 21 Sep 2021 13:22:53
If you think Ben Simmons is getting Philly two players who will become starters over their other players, then you are delusional.

4.) 21 Sep 2021 14:29:30
Not what I’m asking for. Ben’s trade value is higher than walls though. It’s not a 1 for 1 deal.

5.) 21 Sep 2021 15:20:28
Wall has negative trade value. Net zero at absolute best. Simmons still has good positive value. I really think the only way it makes sense is if Wood is also included. Philly would want an above average starter that isn’t past his prime. Wood is the only one that fits on Houston’s roster.

Just because Wall would start doesn’t mean he’s not in the bottom half of starting point guards in the league. He’s a below average starter that’s top 5 in league salary.

6.) 22 Sep 2021 08:29:12
Clippers would give Bledsoe, Kennard, Morris, Johnson and Mann (combination of these players)

Twolves- combination of McDaniels, Beasley, Prince, Beverley and Picks

Please trade Ben Simmons already!

7.) 22 Sep 2021 19:45:40
Both of those packages suck.

18 Jun 2021 11:26:30
Currently 12 hours away from game 6 and I'm not ok. It's impossible to enjoy this city's sports teams

smunro

1.) 18 Jun 2021 16:50:59
Eh, just enjoy it. Look around the country at other big cities that aren’t LA. Look at Portland. Outside of MLS, Portland hasn’t seen a finals in any pro sport (because there’s only the Blazers) since the early 90’s.

Championship or bust leaves fans generally unhappy.
