Pistons Offseason Realistic

Free Agency:

-Let Greg Monroe Walk
-Re-Sign Reggie Jackson(PG) 4 years $56 million
-Re-sign Anthony Tolliver(PF) - 2 years $5 million w/team option

Sign Danny Green(sg/sf) to 3 year $19 million
Sign Mike Dunleavy(SF) to 2 year 7 million
Sign Alexis Ajinca(C)to 2 year 5 million

Draft:
Trade B. Jennings(PG) to CLE for #24, #53, and Brendan Haywood(C) (exp 10mil contract)

#8 Overall - Pistons draft Mario Hezonja (SG/SF)
#24 Overall - Pistons draft Montrezl Harrel (PF/C)

#38 Overall - Rashaud Vaughn (SG)
#53 Overall - Dakari Johnson (C)

Line up -

PG - Reggie Jackson, Spencer Dinwiddie
SG - KCP, Mario Hezonja, Jodie Meeks, Rashaud Vaughn
SF - Danny Green, Mario Hezonja, Mike Dunleavy
PF - Ersan Ilyasova, Montrezl Harrel, Anthony Tolliver
C - Andre Drummond, Alex Ajinca, Dakari Johnson

Solid playoff team #4 or #5 seed with no injuries - leaves lots of cap flexiblity to sign a max-level player in the big 2016 FA.

I think this is about as realistic as you can expect

Green will get more

I think D Green will get more than $6.3M/year

I like the trade for DET if they won't no part of Jennings. Haywood's contract is unique because he made around $2.5M this year, and has a non-guaranteed $10.5M deal this next season. DET can waive him and essentially trade Jennings for a 1st & 2nd pick this year. However, it adds salary to CLE payroll and they're going to have enough trouble as it is to resign all their players. It gives them a huge scoring punch off the bench though. They become more versatile and deep with Jennings there.

PG: Irving/Jennings
SG: Shumpert/Smith
SF: LeBron/Miller
PF: Love/Thompson
C: Mozgov/Varejao

I know it's unlikely, but they should throw max offer at Aldridge. They have the cap space and he and Drummond would be formidable. Illyasova can see some time at the 3 or come off the bench.

I think they should trade #24 & #38 to whoever drafts K Looney

PG: Jackson/Dinwiddie
SG: KCP/Meeks
SF: J Winslow or s Johnson (#8)/Illyasova
PF: Aldrdge/Looney
C: Drummond/FA

@NewLakerDynasty, that Cavs team's payroll would be about $120M, and it would cost them more than $200M, including luxury tax.

5.) 19 Jun 2015 21:46:30
@EU
That's what I'm saying, I doubt CLE would do this because the the luxury tax. But I don't think its completely impossible. Jennings adds an additional $12.4M for 1 year. That adds what $18M in luxury taxes? They're still going to be in the luxury tax without him, so how bad do you want to add depth to make another run for a championship?

Does your number include resigning Shumpert & Thompson? What about Love's contract? He can opt in to his player option and be owed $16M I think?

ALdridge is not coming to Detroit as much as I want him. Ilyasova, a PF, is a much better player then Looney, and they have depth in Tolliver. So that's not going to happen. Mario is their first choice if he is gone then Winslow, then Johnson. At this point Johnson could be a head of Winslow but I have not read that anywhere. They love Mario and have read that in two different publications. Danny Green is not a starter in the NBA he is a Bench player at this point and Mario has more up side and no way anybody trades for Jennnings until he has proven hs is healthy his injury ends most NBA careers.

First of all, there is no way Detroit would trade the #8 pick for #16, #45 and Olynyk. Boston would have to give #16, #28, and #33 + Olynyk for it to be considered. Moving up 8 spots into the lottery costs a lot.
