The Cleveland Cavaliers should trade for Sabonis this offseason, drafting either Ball or Edwards.
Kevin Porter Jr, Garland, and Sexton are a great trio of guards but if the Cavaliers land a top 3 picks I think the Cleveland Cavaliers would most likely move on from one of the three and draft either Ball or Edwards. If Andre drummond does does decide to opt out of his contract, this is is a differant sitation Thompson being a free agent this offseason the Cleveland Cavaliers could look from another center such as Christain Wood.

Maybe it would fit for both, but

1. S&T doesn`t work with two players invoiced for CLE.
2. To keep Drummond and to draft Wiseman?

No.

S&T deals are a minimum 3 year deals per CBA.

I really just don’t find Edwards or Ball all that much more appealing than Garland, Sexton and KPJ. Edwards seems like a volume scorer that wasn’t much of a passer. Ball comes with a circus, can’t shoot and doesn’t play defense.

I assume you’d have to get rid of Sexton, if you get Edwards as you can have 3 score first guards as your core going forward and Garland actually was starting to turn into a solid passer after December (over 5 assists a game) . I wouldn’t trade KPJ, he just seems to have ridiculous upside on both ends. That said, Sexton has shown that he can actually score at a fairly high level in the nba and has done nothing but improve.

You probably get rid of Garland, if you draft Ball. His size fits with Sexton, but if he doesn’t try to play defense, I don’t see a difference between having a bigger guy or a smaller guy that’s getting blown past. I also think that Garland has a more modern nba style, his passing got significantly better during the year, he’s really going to benefit from a healthy offseason, his shooting could end up being dynamic, and he’s a really smart player. I’m not sure that Ball is going to be the better player between the two.

I guess it all depends on where the pick is, who’s available, and what teams are willing to give up in a trade for Sexton or Garland, but I’d prefer the Cavs taking a forward or center.
