Warriors offseason

- resign D.Green (4-year, 60M)
- sign G.Neal or M.Thornton (1-year, 3M) via MLE
- sign L.Barbosa and R.Hollins (min.)
- trade D.Lee, 30th pick, 2019 2nd round pick and cash considerations ($3.3M) for a highly protected 2nd round pick of 76ers/Lakers/Celtics/Pistons
* Warriors avoid paying much luxury tax. One of those teams, probably the one that couldn't sign an All-star caliber player, gets solid veteran who can be mentor of their young bigmen (Noel-Embiid/Randle/Sullinger/Drummond), and acquires cash & future assets. Also, the team may use his big expiring contract at the deadline, in order to complete a blockbuster trade that will get them a star (Durant?).

Curry - Livingston - Barbosa
Thompson - Neal/Thornton - Holiday
Barnes - Iguadala
Green - Speights - McAdoo
Bogut - Ezeli - Hollins

I think the Sixers are out of the business of taking on clunker contracts. And D. Lee has a whopper. But they just might keep him for awhile as a vet to help the young big guys.

But getting the 30th pick does put them back in the first round this year, which means they could leverage a future first rounder- next year's pick from Miami or OKC maybe- to get in the teens to try to get PG J. Grant from ND.

Not a bad idea from the Sixers perspective. They get stuck with a bad contract for 1 year but wind up with a veteran plus maybe their PG of the future.

Philly rich.

I think that's too much instant gratification. Just wait a year and draft a better player with the okc or Miami pick. It'll be higher then the pick you'd get this year most likely.

I'd be fine with this

Lee is only signed for 1 more year. If the sixers aren't going to get any big name FA until after this year(hopefully), I don't see any negatives in this trade. Philly gets another #1, albeit a late first rounder, and future #2, and a vet off the bench who still can help a bit. Why wouldn't sixers do it, it gives hinkie another asset to draft or package.

Tre-

I had more time to look this over. I don't see any way for the Sixers to get from 30 into the teens for my target, J. Grant.

So I've changed my mind and would not do this unless I have something lined up to get into the teens.

This is kind of an odd draft. There aren't that many teams with multiple first rounders. And the teams that do have the second first rounder pretty last in the round. Those are kind of 2nd rounders, and the Sixers are loaded with them already.
