Knicks get Brandon Ingram (sign-and-trade 4 years $120 million)

Pelicans get Myles Turner, RJ Barrett, and Doug McDermott

Pacers get Julius Randle, Taj Gibson, the 8th overall pick from NYK, and the 39th overall pick from NOP

The Knicks finally land their All-Star and give themselves a chance at signing a star like Giannis or Kawhi in 2021. They also unload Randle's unpleasant contract.

The Pelicans get a franchise center, a talented young wing to replace Ingram (who also happens to be Zion's best friend), and an expiring contract. Zo/Jrue/Barrett/Zion/Turner looks like a dangerous lineup.

The Pacers appear to be in the midst of a rebuild. They take on Randle's unpleasant contract, but add a lottery pick, a second round pick, and an expiring contract. The Pacers will have serious cap space to work with in 2022 when Randle comes off the books.

They give up an even better franchise SF for a mid pack Center.

They could get Turner for far less

Or Knicks can waive several of their players who have contracts that are not guaranteed or have team options, then offer Ingram the max and force New Orleans to match.

Seems like a simpler Barrett and whoever the Knicks pick at 8 for Ingram makes more sense.

Since the 39th pick is undercontract, you cannot combine him with Ingram.

The 39th pick hasn’t even been selected yet, how could it be under-contract? The pick itself can be traded.

Salaries wouldn’t match in that scenario Bmiller.

No need to match salaries Knicka waive all their non-guaranteed deals.

Salaries don’t need to match, the Knicks will have cap space to absorb the max contract.
