For Phoenix, I think it's a solid return if they're not looking to pay Ayton. They can keep or move Horford and Williams is locked up on a great contract.

Horford has been awesome for Boston but he's running out of time and this might be the last chance they have to replace him. Everyone loves Robert Williams but he's not big enough to battle Embiid or other large centers. The improvement of Grant Williams allows them some unexpected flexibility. They would still be a very good defensive team and would be better offensively, at least on paper.

I think the money can work if you're giving Ayton a max contract (which is likely what it will take to pry him away from the Suns) . Difficulty is that it puts Boston into the hard cap with about 5M left to spend but very little flexibility.

The trade value comparison is pretty irrelevant. It’s all about what team Ayton chooses.
