Relatively new to the NBA and unfamiliar with the majority of role players and bench players for example. I'm a casual Raptors fan and have seen Lowry is more than likely to be traded along with Powell with the Heat being the frontrunners for Lowry.

Can anyone tell me what sort of return the raptors would be looking at from those trades and what would be the best deals for them.

Read somewhere that the Raptors are holding up the league with huge asking prices for the players they are looking to trade.

Thanks in advance.

Lowry for Herro and Iguodala seems like the peak value for him.

I have a sense that the Raptors aren't feeling any pressure to deal Lowry. if they can get a nice package back from a team Lowry approves of they'll do it, otherwise they'll hang onto him. Lowry's people reportedly have put it out there that he's looking for 2 yrs and 50M to resign, so the Raptors will value him as more than an expiring contract. I would guess it will take Herro and a 1st, or Maxey and Thybulle and a 1st, plus whatever expiring salaries are required. For Norm I think the Raptors will be more likely to trade him because I don't see them looking to resign him as a starter. He will get starter money this summer from somebody, so the Raptors are likely expecting to lose him anyway. In return I think they'd like to resolve the issues with the 5 spot going forward. If a team would be willing to give a 1st for Norm, would Sacramento take that first for Holmes? Or could Cleveland be enticed to give up Allen for whatever Powell could fetch?

I was thinking Herro would be the obvious trade, Iguodala is getting on a bit but would be a welcome addition I suppose.

As for Norm any idea on his value, he strikes me as another player that lots of teams would want on their roster.

There is two problems with trading Lowry.

1. Lowry's salary is hard to match. Because nearly 90% of the teams are over the salary cap, teams trading for Lowry are going to have to send back around $24 mil in salary. Teams that are in contention for the title don't really have pieces that work well.

2. No first round draft picks. Almost every team tied to Lowry (Lakers, Heat, Clippers) do not have a first round pick available to trade for Lowry. If the Raptors are not getting a "quality" draft pick, then why trade Lowry?

Because of these reasons, Raptors are seeing trade packages like Iguodalla, Badley, Herro and a couple of seconds (from Miami) or Shroeder, Kendavious-Pope, Horton-Tucker and a couple of seconds (Lakers) .

Not the greatest of offers in my opinion.

Norm would be worth probably more than Lowry.

I was going to ask about the 5 spot. The options that the Raptors have aren't the greatest, badly lack a good rebounder and with Aaron Baynes the less said the better really.

Think Boucher, Siakam and OG will be good going forward although Boucher can only really play the 5 spot. If Allen from the Cavs is an option then he'd be great but saw Andre Drummond's name being touted around, although the Nick's are sniffing all around that.

As I was unsure on how the trading would work I wasn't sure whether Powell for a Center would have been viable.

Fred, 24 million isn't that hard to match.
Green+Scott+Bradley+Thybulle+ a 1st for Lowry+Johnson+Watson?

8.) 25 Mar 2021 18:28:42
I wouldn’t trade Herro for aging Lowry.

9.) 25 Mar 2021 21:46:13
According to reports I saw, Philly never made an offer for Lowry at the trade deadline. Seems like whatever offer that was previously made was pulled by the 76ers.

10.) 26 Mar 2021 03:52:03
Heat didn't want to include Herro, Lakers didn't want to give THT. So the Raptors kept Lowry.

11.) 26 Mar 2021 13:57:52
So no one was willing to PAY the price that Toronto wanted for Lowry and Toronto was not willing to SELL at the price that teams were offering for Lowry.

So there basically was no deal to be made.

Hi there gents, thought I'd have a look at the NBA page. Bit of a casual fan of the Raptors. Just like to know (after their defeat to the Celtics) if they were looking to change things up with regards to trades. Feel they're missing a real star player to just elevate the team to the level of last year. Obviously Kawhi leaving had a massive part in that. But with Siakam getting seemingly better every year and players coming through such as OG do they really need to get another big name into the side?

Die hard raptors fan here.
Love spicy P, but I don't think he will develop into a top 10 in the league player. probably best suited to the Robin role. raps stand as good a chance as any to lure giannis if he decides to leave milwaukee, but if not you can bet masai ujiri will be aggressive in signing or trading for a top level Batman. they signed the coach to an extension today, now to get the GM and VP extended are first priorities.

Agreed with rapsfan.
