Okc gets Batum, lottery protected 2021 1st
Charlotte gets Ariza
Separate transaction because of the cap rules.
Okc gets Rozier
Charlotte gets Horford
OKC:
They add another first while adding salary. The first could be great if Charlotte improves (which I imagine they would) and lands in the 15-20 range. It'd give them more ammunition in a good draft and helps them be worse next season.
Hornets:
Losing a pick is no bueno, but it is a calculated risk because the alternative is stretching Batum's contract over three years. Ariza can be a useful player for them and is just a one year deal. Getting Horford could solve multiple problems. He can be a good fit after lacking a 5 this offseason. He fits well with Gordon after being with him in Boston. He can also be a good veteran presence in the locker room. This swap also leaves lamelo a starting spot with Graham coming off the bench.
Thoughts?

Why would OKC get a pick? Horford's contract is worse than Batum's and Rozier is better than Ariza.

Not sure OKC has the cap space remaining to take have Batum and Horford on the books at the same time that these separate trades require.
Nor does this give Charlotte the cap space it needs to sign Hayward for the agreed upon amount because Horford's salary essentially replaces Batum's salary on the books.

Huge no from Charlotte.

Why do you have Hornets trading a first for Ariza? When Batum is also expiring.
