On Thursday, Yahoo Sports NBA insider Jake Fischer revealed on his “Please Don’t Aggregate This” podcast that the word around the league is that the team is willing to move ace defender Alex Caruso. However, the asking price is shockingly high and is currently set at two first-round draft picks.

I am starting to think that these ridiculous demands from teams for their players were impacted by the Rudy Gobert trade.

Teams are nuts. This can’t be real.

I blame Toronto. Seems like they started the “I’m going to ask for a superstar return for a role player” nonsense.

2 1sts for a bench player. I wouldn’t trade for anyone ever again.

why "blame" anyone? It's really a simple equation. if you want to trade a player you test the market and settle on the best offer. if you don't want to trade a player you set a very high price to let other teams know you want to keep him and they'd better be willing to pay if they want to talk. Clearly Chicago is saying that they would deal Caruso but they would be quite happy to keep him. Caruso would be a valuable player for any numnber of contenders, but Chicago can wait and trade him in the offseason or at the next deadline, so they will only take a trade they feel would make them better in the long run.
